Super 8's Ryan Lee joins Rob Letterman's Goosebumps starring Jack Black

The cast continues to grow for Rob Letterman’s GOOSEBUMPS as Variety is reporting that SUPER 8’s Ryan Lee (pictured; right) will star alongside the previously announced Jack Black, Amy Ryan, Dylan Minnette, Odeya Rush and Ken Marino.

Story is loosely based on R.L. Stine’s book series and follows Minnette’s character, who moves from New York City to the small town of Greendale, Maryland, where his secretive new neighbor turns out to be veteran young adult horror author R.L. Stine (Black). When all the many demons of Stine’s mind are set free by Slappy, a demonic ventriloquist’s dummy, it’s up to Minnette’s character and Stine’s niece Hannah to put all the evil genies back in the bottle.

The screenplay was penned by Carl Ellsworth, Scott Alexander, Larry Karazewski and Darren Lemke. Jess Siegler, Tania Landau, Deborah Forte and Neal Moritz (Original Films) are producing the pic, which Sony has set for a March 23, 2016 release.
