New Line is bringing THE CONJURING's creepy Annabelle doll to life in her very own spinoff titled ANNABELLE, and she's already got a couple of actors to terrorize! It's amazing how quick they can get these things off the ground. It was only back in November that we heard rumblings of a spinoff and now they're already casting it. With production set to begin on January 27th in Los Angeles, CA, I think it's safe to say that we'll be hearing a lot more about this one in the coming months.
Both Annabelle Wallis and Ward Horton have joined the spinoff which is being directed by John Leonetti, who served as the cinematographer on THE CONJURING. Leonetti will direct from a script by Gary Dauberman. Peter Safran is producing, while THE CONJURING director James Wan is among the executive producers. I'm not sure how many people are actually excited about the idea of the Annabelle doll getting her very own horror flick, but I do think that New Line is on to something here. The doll was creepy as shit and it certainly left one hell of an impression on a lot of people despite the fact that she is hardly in the movie at all. I guess we'll have to wait and see!
