The Following season two sets premiere date; will you be watching?

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

After a successful freshman season, Kevin Williamson’s serial killer drama “The Following” will attempt to avoid the sophomore jinx this January when it returns to Fox. The network has just announced the series, which stars Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy, commences its 14-week second season with a special two-night season premiere event, beginning Sunday, January 19th (10:00-11:00 PM ET).

The two-night event continues with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 20 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), following the season finale of “Sleepy Hollow,” airing at a special time (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).

When we left off last season (SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN”T WATCHED), Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) jumped through figurative hoops and literal flames to rescue Claire (Natalie Zea). With Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) presumably dead in the postfight explosion, things were looking up. Ryan had Claire back safe in his apartment. But of course, that’s when his ex Molly (Jennifer Ferrin) — revealed as a Carroll follower — popped by … with a knife.

Will you be tuning in to the second season of “The Following”? Let us know in the comment section below the photo, which shows us Emma (Valorie Curry) holding what looks to be a creepy Joe Carroll mask.
