The legend of The Other Side of the Door gets a cool animation

The animated sequence explaining the mythology of a character or legend has become a very popular trope in movies. It has most recently been seen in KRAMPUS, when the legend of the anti-Santa is described through a faux Rankin-Bass Claymation style.

This style is being resurrected THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR in this new clip, which explains the background of the Legend of the Door. It's not an exciting title, but it's a cool sequence that will definitely help you decide if this movie's story is up your alley without spoiling the film itself. Check it out below!

A family lives an idyllic existence abroad until a tragic accident takes the life of their young son. The inconsolable mother learns of an ancient ritual that will bring him back to say a final goodbye. She travels to an ancient temple, where a door serves as a mysterious portal between two worlds. But when she disobeys a sacred warning to never open that door, she upsets the balance between life and death.

Johannes Roberts directed the film from a screenplay he wrote with Ernest Riera. It stars The Walking Dead's Sarah Wayne Callies, Jeremy Sisto, and Javier Botet (the unforgettable Niña Medeiros from the [REC] franchise). Peek on THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR in theaters March 4th.
