Tim Curry challenges your convictions by joining the Rocky Horror remake

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Many of you are sternly dedicated to avoiding Fox's remake of THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, which is set to air this Fall. However, some news has arrived that might just make those convictions take a jump to the left. The original Dr. Frank-N-Furter himself, Tim Curry, has joined the cast in a minor role. He will be taking the part of the Criminologist, the film's narrator who was originally portrayed by DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER and YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE's Charles Gray.

This will be the first time Curry has returned to the property since originating the role of Frank-N-Furter in the original West End production, the Broadway show, and the 1975 film. He didn't even make an appearance in the notoriously underlooked SHOCK TREATMENT, the film's 1981 quasi-sequel. He won't be taking a lead, so if you're dead set on avoiding it, you probably still can, but it's become a smidge harder to ignore the remake's presence.

In ROCKY HORROR, Brad and Janet stumble into:

The creepy castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter and set into motion an evening of floor shows, Transylvanian dance routines, and no lack of touch-a touch-a touching.

THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega, stars Laverne Cox as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Victoria Justice as Janet, Ryan McCartan as Brad, Reeve Carney as Riff Raff, Adam Lambert as Eddie, and Staz Nair as Rocky.
