Twin Peaks welcomes in Jennifer Jason Leigh; Naomi Watts next?

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

It must be said that Showtime’s new Twin Peaks series has a bangin’ cast so far. In addition to returning favorites Kyle MacLachlan, Dana Ashbrook, Sheryl Lee and Sherilyn Fenn, the David Lynch-helmed series has brought in such high profile names as Amanda Seyfried, Peter Sarsgaard, Balthazar Getty, Robert Knepper and (potentially) Robert Forster. And here’s another you can add: Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Leigh is no doubt on the comeback trail thanks to her role in Quentin Tarantino’s THE HATEFUL EIGHT, although the actress has never really gone anywhere. She’s been on TV in shows like Weeds and Revenge, while also tackling recent supporting roles in THE SPECTACULAR NOW, HATESHIP LOVESHIP and WELCOME TO ME. And that’s not even mentioning the still-unreleased AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING. But HATEFUL is looking like it’ll revive Leigh’s name in a big way, and early peeks at her performance make one think a Best Supporting Actress nomination isn’t out of the question.

In addition to Leigh, Deadline is reporting Twin Peaks may be bringing in Naomi Watts, who broke out bigtime in Lynch’s MULHOLLAND DRIVE (pictured below). We’ll have to wait and see if that pans out.
