Universal tap Alex Kurtzman & Robert Orci for fantasy adaptation Dragonology

What if I was to tell you there’s a project in the works over at Universal about some mastermind who decides to use dragons to take over the world? Would that be something you might be interested in?

It’s a pretty good idea, right? Well… if dragons existed. Thankfully for us they do in the children’s fantasy novel DRAGONOLOGY, which is set up for a big-screen adaptation over at Universal. News coming our way today via The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog has two more names jumping on board DRAGONOLOGY and I’m thinking they could only help matters.

According to the site Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci have just joined DRAGONOLOGY to oversee the hiring of a new scribe and the writing of a new script. Former DRAGONOLOGY scribe Leonard Hartman will now serve as an executive producer on the project.

The books are faux fiction and based on the conceit that dragons actually exist as revealed by the Victorian dragonologist Ernest Drake. The studio’s take revolves around a team of dragonologists who embark on a quest to avert a plot to use the world’s remaining dragons to wipe out humanity.

Sounds like a good time to me! Here’s hoping this thing isn’t too childish considering we could see some real damage here! I mean who doesn’t love a good dragon flick?!

Now we sit and wait until Kurtzman and Orci can find a new scribe for DRAGONOLOGY. When that shite happens you can bet we’ll be right here to tell you about it.
