Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny: TV Spot reveals more classic Indy action

The new TV spot for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is jam-packed with classic Indy action, and even a new look at Sallah.

“My memory’s a little fuzzy. Are you still a Nazi?” Lucasfilm has just dropped a jaw-dropping, 30-second “Big Game” Super Bowl TV spot for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny that’s packed to the brim with more classic Indy action. In the tv spot, you get another quick look at the younger, de-aged Indiana Jones planting a classic Harrison Ford haymaker right in the face of a Nazi goon before segueing to an older Indy facing off with an old enemy, Mads Mikkelsen’s Voller.

While the new Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny TV spot is not as revealing as the first trailer, this new spot gives us a quick look at the movie’s scope and a big action scene set on a crashing plane. In this bit, Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Helena attempts to rescue Indy, only to need some rescuing herself. While the action definitely seems more CGI-heavy than earlier Indiana Jones movies, it seems to nail the sense of fun the original flicks are known for. Many worried that the new director, James Mangold, might make this a little too heavy (after all, he is the man who gave us Logan), but he seems to be nailing the tone. We even got another look at John Rhys-Davies as Sallah, plus more of Boyd Holbrook as the new henchman, Klaber. I have to say it, every time John Williams’ “Raiders March” kicks in, I get chills, and this new tv spot struck me as pretty perfect.

Antonio Banderas, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann and Toby Jones co-star alongside Ford, Waller-Bridge, Mikkelson, Holbrook and Rhys-Davies. The long-awaited fifth (and final) instalment of the series finally hits theaters on June 30th, which is only two weeks after The Flash. Will Harrison Ford’s Indy and Michael Keaton’s Batman dominate the summer box office? It’s like “sequel summer” 1989 all over again, when Batman and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade were the two biggest-grossing movies of the year!
