Infinite trailer: Mark Wahlberg’s past is present in Antoine Fuqua’s latest

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Second Update: Paramount+ has dropped a pulse-pounding trailer for Antoine Fuqua's Infinite.

In the trailer, we find Mark Wahlberg's Evan Michaels being interrogated by Chiwetel Ejiofor''s mysterious character. As the pair engage in a dangerous game of Russian Roulette, Michaels comes to terms with the fact that he's lived thousands of lives in the past. From that point forward, the trailer kicks into overdrive, showing off some of the film's stunning effects and intriguing characters. One thing's for sure, Fuqua has certainly caught my attention with this footage, and it looks like I'll be adding Infinite to my must-watch movie list for the summer.

Update: It's been confirmed that Antoine Fuqua's Infinite will hit Paramount+ on June 10, 2021.

Original Article: In a sign for the ever-growing power of streaming, It has been announced that the Mark Whalberg-led film, Infinite, will skip theaters and head straight to the Paramount+ streaming service in June.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, Infinite follows Evan McCauley (Wahlberg), who discovers that his hallucinations are actually visions from past lives. The film also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sophie Cookson, Dylan O'Brien, Rupert Friend, and Jason Mantzoukas. Like most films that planned to be released in 2020, it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Originally slated to be released on August 7, 2020, the film will now premiere on Paramount+ in June.

The news of Infinite's move to Paramount+. was revealed during a first-quarter earnings call with ViacomCBS CEO Bob Bakish. Moving Infinite to streaming seems to be part of the plan to expand the Paramount+ feature catalog. The streamer is set to add 1K more movies to its service which will bring its catalog to 2.5K-plus tiles on the platform. The service will also launch new original films such as a new Paranormal Activity, and The In Between, which will premiere before the end of the year.

The release of Infinite on Paramount+ is the second time that Paramount has sent a theatrical title to the streaming service. Last year, the studio shifted The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run film off of the theatrical calendar to be launched stateside on Paramount+. Overseas rights for the film were sold to Netflix, while a theatrical release was granted to the movie in Canada last August.

Do YOU think it was best for Inifinite to skip theaters for a debut on Paramount+?
