It’s Schwarzenegger vs. Chan in a jaunty trailer for The Iron Mask

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

The moment you've all been waiting for has arrived! Signature Entertainment has debuted a spirited trailer for their upcoming action-adventure feature THE IRON MASK, starring screen legends Jackie Chan and Arnold Schwarzenegger! That's right, folks! It's Chan versus Schwarzenegger for this jaunty, slapstick-saturated romp that's bound to take high-fantasy hijinks in some very outlandish directions! Ladies and gentlemen … Let's get ready to rumble!

Released last year in Russia and China under the title VIY 2: JOURNEY TO CHINA, THE IRON MASK continues the tale based on a short story of the same name from the 19th century by Nikolai Gogol. And because THE IRON MASK is something that movie fans like me desperately want to see, Signature Entertainment have changed the film's original title and are releasing it stateside to capitalize on Chan and Schwarzenegger's good names.

Would someone please sign me up for this ridiculousness? Chan squaring off against Schwarzenegger? Zany combat, over-the-top performances and flying dragons? Yes, please! For me, this is totally a "crack a bottle of the cheap stuff and enjoy the ride" kind of film. I wonder if my wife will humor me when this awfully good-looking movie hits Digital? I sure hope so. If she loves me, she totally will. Let's go!

The Iron Mask, Jackie Chan, Arnold Schwarzenegger

Set in the 18th century, THE IRON MASK (aka Journey To China) follows English traveler Jonathan Green as he journeys from Russia to China encountering dragons, black magic wizardry and a dragon king during an incredible but deadly adventure.

In addition to Chan and Schwarzenegger, the film also stars Charles Dance, Jason Flemyng, Xingtong Yao, Anna Churina and the late Rutger Hauer.

Signature Entertainment will present THE IRON MASK at UK Cinemas and on Digital this April 10, 2020.
