Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart set to reteam for Max Landis scripted action comedy American Ultra

It looks like ADVENTURELAND stars Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart are about to have a reunion with the Max Landis penned AMERICAN ULTRA, from PROJECT X director Nima Nourizadeh. The action comedy would have Eisenberg "play an unmotivated stoner named Mike, who lives with his girlfriend Phoebe (Stewart) in a small, sleepy town. One night, their lives take an unexpected turn when Mike's past comes back to haunt him, and he becomes the target of a government operation set to wipe him out." Sounds like fun, but producer Anthony Bregman seems to have even more enthusiasm for the project, saying:

"Simply put, American Ultra will be the most fun you can possibly have in a movie theater without the use of drugs, fireworks or canola oil."

A bit hyperbolic to be sure, but I do see potential. ADVENTURELAND was a highly underrated flick, although a lot of that had to do with writer/director Greg Mottola (SUPERBAD) than Eisenberg and Stewart. However, they were certainly both good in the pic and for Stewart's part it was hell and gone something better than her TWILIGHT work. Landis is still building off his success with CHRONICLE, but it's still up in the air if his follow-on work can match it. That said, with the collective talent involved, I'm game to hear and see more.

AMERICAN ULTRA is set to shoot in April 2014.
