Joe Manganiello joins Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday; first images revealed

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

With production underway on PEE-WEE'S BIG HOLIDAY, the first Pee-Wee Herman film since 1998's BIG TOP PEE-WEE, fans of the classic character have been excited to see what Paul Reubens has in store for us. Little is known about the plot of PEE-WEE'S BIG HOLIDAY aside from it being a road movie about "Pee-wee taking his first holiday, the journey of a lifetime in an epic story of friendship and destiny" but now we have our first look at Paul Reubens alongside cast-mate Joe Manganiello.

Reubens shared this about Manganiello's casting on his official website, PeeWee.com.

“Joe’s already my friend – and he’s tremendously talented and a terrific person. I am so glad we are finally going to get to work together. This totally makes up for being cut out of Magic Mike and Magic Mike 2!”

Joe Manganiello also commented.

Paul Reubens is one of the great comic geniuses of our time. Growing up, my Saturday mornings were all about Pee-wee Herman. I saw everything he did. I can’t believe that I’m going to get to share scenes with one of the iconic figures of my childhood.”

I would expect there to be a lot more celebrity cameos in PEE-WEE'S BIG HOLIDAY, but this is a great start. All I need is for John Lee's directorial debut to be closer in line with PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE rather than BIG TOP PEE-WEE and I will be happy. Here's hoping this is the first of many photos to come from the production.

PEE-WEE'S BIG HOLIDAY is slated to debut sometime in 2015 on Netflix.
