Josh Brolin & Miles Teller battle wildfires in Only The Brave trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

As someone who lives in British Columbia, which just experienced its worst wildfire season on record, the threat of an uncontrollable fire hits all too close to home. Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Jeff Bridges, James Badge Dale, andTaylor Kitsch star in ONLY THE BRAVE, which tells the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, an elite fire-fighting unit who battled the Yarnell Hill Fire in Arizona in June 2013, which tragically claimed the lives of 19 members of their team. The recently released trailer for the Joseph Kosinski flick looks suitably intense, and it will certainly be interesting to see what Kosinski can do with a real-life drama after his first two films, TRON: LEGACY and OBLIVION, remained firmly in the realm of science-fiction.

The official synopsis for ONLY THE BRAVE:

It’s not what stands in front of you… it’s who stands beside you. Only the Brave, based on the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, is the heroic story of one unit of local firefighters that through hope, determination, sacrifice, and the drive to protect families, communities, and our country become one of the most elite firefighting teams in the nation.  As most of us run from danger, they run toward it – they watch over our lives, our homes, everything we hold dear, as they forge a unique brotherhood that comes into focus with one fateful fire.

ONLY THE BRAVE will hit theaters on October 20th.
