Welp! That old gray mare, she ain’t what she used to be. Kevin Hart recently learned a harsh lesson in the art of aging after challenging former NFL player Stevan Ridley to a 40-yard dash. During his attempt to do “young stuff,” Hart tore his lower abdomen and abductors. Calling himself the Dumbest Man Alive, Hart is recovering in a wheelchair after the incident. To control the narrative and perhaps warn his fans to respect their aging bodies, Hart posted a message to social media detailing his injury.

In the video, Hart says he argued with Ridley about who is faster. The duo agreed to engage in a 40-yard dash, and that’s where it all went south.

“We get out there, we go run the 40-yard dash,” Hart said. “40-yard dash. Guys, I blew all my s–t. Tore my lower abdomen, my abductors. I don’t even know what that is, but I tore them. I tore those too. I can’t walk. Sit my ass down. This is 44.”

Several of Hart’s friends wished the comedian well on his post, including Dwayne Johnson, who says he also tore an abductor in his pelvis during a wrestling match. He encouraged Hart to rest and heal, saying he would be okay. “You’ll grow a third ball, but you’ll be fine,” Johnson cautioned.

Will Smith added his voice to the chorus of well-wishes, saying, “Getting older is REAL!! Heal Up, Kev!!” Comedian Steve Harvey also said, “Welp, if it makes you feel any better, at 66, I don’t even have abs or abductors! Just use your stomach! Heal up, Nephew!”

Hart recently wrapped production for Lift, an action comedy from director F. Gary Gray (FridaySet It Off) about a master thief and her ex-boyfriend who team up to steal $100 million in gold bullion being transported on a 777 passenger flight. Gugu Mbatha-Raw (LokiThe Morning Show), Vincent D’Onofrio (Full Metal JacketThe Cell), Paul Anderson (Sherlock: A Game of ShadowsLegend), Sam Worthington (Avatar: The Way of WaterClash of the Titans), Billy Magnussen (Into the WoodsGame NightNo Time to Die), and Jean Reno (RoninThe Pink Panther) lead the cast.

We wish Mr. Hart a speedy recovery and urge you to listen to your bodies the next time you challenge a former NFL runner to a 40-yard dash.
