Our tribute to Fred Willard

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

According to the Hollywood Reporter, beloved comic character actor Fred Willard has passed away at age 86 of natural causes. Best known for his long-running association with Christopher Guest, for whom he appeared in A MIGHTY WIND, BEST IN SHOW and more, Willard also memorably played Rob Burgundy’s station manager in ANCHORMAN ("Apparently my son was on something called 'acid' and was shooting a bow and arrow into a crowd") and was twice nominated for an Emmy for his role as Brad Garrett’s father in law on “Everybody Loves Raymond.” He’s also due to appear in Netflix’s upcoming Steve Carrell series, “Space Force.” That show is due to hit the service on May 29th.

Rest in peace Fred!
