Lin out of Oldboy

Today the dudes at Bloody-Disgusting snagged news from director Justin Lin regarding the rumoured remake of Park Chan-Wook’s OLDBOY, which has been in development for some time now.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, for those detesting remakes), Lin says that while he loves the original film, it doesn’t look as though the remake will happen, due to his own projects in the works, and because he wants everything to be copacetic with the film.

However, just because Lin doesn’t want to do the remake, doesn’t mean that the story is dead, since Hollywood seems to love it’s remake fix, and will no doubt try to find someone else. In the meantime, consider the OLDBOY remake stalled.
