Mark Strong confirmed as Sinestro in Green Lantern

Only because some of us need reassurance, Mark Strong has been confirmed to play Sinestro in the upcoming GREEN LANTERN film.

We’ve sort of danced around the rumor, and now Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment, Geoff Johns is putting it out in the open.

Here are the two tweets in question:

“Back from an amazing trip to Green Lantern town a.k.a. New Orleans!! Ryan IS Hal. And Mark Strong is going to be a brilliant Sinestro.”

“Kilowog, the Guardians, Oa…all breathtaking. The age of Green Lantern is upon us!!”

Strong is definitely one of the go to guys if your looking to fill the shoes of a villain right now. Originally it was thought that Jackie Earle Haley would be play mentor to Hal Jordan, but according to director Martin Campbell it was never suggested. Campbell saw Strong as the best fit when looking at older pictures of Sinestro. Well, that and the fact that the guy’s a badass.

So there you have it. The person who builds Green Lantern up to eventually let him down will be Mr. Strong.
