TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and CLOVERFIELD star Mike Vogel has just landed the lead role in CBS television’s upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s UNDER THE DOME, according to Deadline.

Vogel will be joining the previously announced Jolene Purdy (“Glee”, DONNIE DARKO), Nicholas Strong, Britt Robertson (“The Secret Circle”), Aisha Hinds (“True Blood”), Natalie Martinez (“CSI: NY,” DEATH RACE), Colin Ford (“Supernatural”), and Alex Koch for the 13-episode mini-series set to air this summer. Vogel will be taking on the role of Dale “Barbie” Barbara, an Army veteran who is in town on a mysterious mission.

Vogel’s hiring represents one of the final castings on the series.

UNDER THE DOME is the story of a small New England town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from and if and when it will go away.

The 13-episode summer series from CBS, Steven Spielberg, and Stephen King will premiere June 24th. Visit underthedome.com to sign up for more info.
