Back in April, we brought you word several industry analysts were predicting that STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS could have a global opening weekend of at least $500 million.

However, that was before JURASSIC WORLD stomped into theaters and broke all kinds records, and now the box office forecast of the film is that it could gross as much as $615 million worldwide in its debut weekend, with $300 million of that coming from domestic theaters. Even though the film won't be playing yet in China (December is a blackout month for Hollywood films), many are confident that it will still be able to hit those numbers.

A $300 million domestic opening weekend may sound crazy, especially since the record is "only" $208 million, but it's definitely possible. The film will play in more than 4,000 theaters and on at least 10,000 screens, and it's not like people aren't excited to check out a new Star Wars flick. Empire has also released its THE FORCE AWAKENS subscribers' cover, as well as two new behind-the-scenes stills featuring John Boyega and director J.J. Abrams, all of which you can check out below.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS will be in theaters on December 18, 2015.
