Does this Disney ad suggest we’re close to a reissue of classic Star Wars?

It's hard to believe that it's been almost 2 years since Disney acquired Lucasfilm for a whopping $4 billion! Announcement of future Star Wars sequels came right out the gate but for that kinda cash, you knew Disney was also going to take advantage of the already existing Star Wars films, which brings us to today. An interesting Disney ad has hit and while it's in Italian, what it shows is far more revealing.

Check it out:

A rough translation of the ad goes something like this:

Enter Disney’s magical world, with the brand new site disney.it. All your favourite Disney characters await you, including the most engaging TV series and plenty of exclusive videos and content. Amazing apps and games and a online community to share your passions. All of this, simply from any PC, tablets or smartphones. Carry the Disney’s magic always on you.

So what we see in the ad is Disney pushing their digital services, and those are definitely clips from STAR WARS. Disney re-releasing the classic films is only a matter of time but the big question is when and in what format? Will we see the updated Special Editions that we're all (unfortunately) used to or perhaps finally the way the films were originally released in theaters, albeit remastered? Disney certainly has the money and the technology to make it happen, and such an act would inspire a lot of confidence in die-hard STAR WARS fans who are iffy about Disney taking over the franchise. Hopefully Disney will do right by its fans and we'll get the movies we all grew up with.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII will hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
