Ethan Hawke and John Goodman have been added to the cast of Luc Besson's VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS, joining Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevingne, Clive Owen and Rihanna. Besson took to Instagram over the weekend to announce Hawke's involvement, although he didn't reveal who the actor will be playing, while The Wrap has learned that Goodman will voice a CG alien in the sci-fi epic.

VALERIAN will follow a spatio-temporal agent (DeHaan) and his companion (Delevingne) as they travel the universe through space and time, and is based on the long-running French comic book series from Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mezieres. Besson will direct from his own script when production kicks off next month, and he'll be working with a reported budget of $180 million. What are your thoughts on the latest cast additions to Besson's new movie?

VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS will arrive in theaters on July 21, 2017.
