Ex Machina’s Alicia Vikander to star alongside Matt Damon in new Bourne film

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Yesterday we heard that Paul Greengrass was seeking out some serious talent for his upcoming BOURNE flick with both Viggo Mortensen and Alicia Vikander rumored to be up for leading roles. It looks as though one of them is a sure thing, as Vikander has officially signed on to star alongside Matt Damon.

If you had the pleasure of checking out Alex Garland's EX MACHINA this year, you've seen Alicia Vikander in action and know why she's being sought out for every role under the sun. BOURNE won't even be her only recent spy flick, as audiences will get to check her out in Guy Ritchie's THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. later this year. BOURNE 5 so far features Matt Damon, Alicia Vikander and returning cast member Julia Stiles. Director Paul Greengrass is currently writing the screenplay with Christopher Rouse, his frequent editor.

While I was never opposed to the BOURNE series focusing on other agents, THE BOURNE LEGACY failed to offer up much new or compelling that we haven't seen in the first three movies. Damon and Greengrass don't NEED to make another BOURNE movie, so I'm hoping that means they have some really exciting ideas for the next installment. It's time to give Bond a run for his money, again!

BOURNE 5 is scheduled to hit theaters on July 16, 2016.

Bald or with hair . . . I will take Alicia Vikander any way I can get her.
