Henry Cavill would like to see Superman and Batman in a movie together

MAN OF STEEL impresses me more and more with each new trailer. While I am still reserved from expecting too much, the most recent footage looks like the most action-oriented Superman we have ever seen in a movie. Plus, with WB stating that the JUSTICE LEAGUE movie hinges on MAN OF STEEL's reception and box office, all hands are on deck for DC.

But, it has been said multiple times in the talk backs, DC should not do a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie yet because, well, the DC characters aren't all that great once you get past the big two: Superman and Batman. So, why not do the logical first step and make a WORLD'S FINEST movie instead?

MAN OF STEEL star Henry Cavill himself was asked that question by SFX and this was his response:

“I think it would be really interesting with the age-old Batman/Superman conflict, “he tells SFX, “because they are two different sides of the same coin and their methods are entirely different. And I think it would actually make for an interesting story as to why, first of all, they were going head to head and how. I think that would make a great story.”

Cavill seems to be as much of a comic book fan as anyone who has played a superhero, which makes me like him even more. Cavill is a big nerd at heart and even almost missed out on getting the role of Superman because he was too busy playing World of Warcraft to answer Zack Snyder's phone call.

Batman and Superman or Batman vs. Superman seems to be the logical choice for building up the DC cinematic universe. I would rather them get these two icons on the same page and build up their love/hate friendship before delving into a larger team. Plus, you can introduce a new Batman that way without doing a solo movie.

MAN OF STEEL opens on JUne 14, 2013.
