When we last saw Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor in BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, he was…well, I won't get into that here, but I think it's safe to say that many of us just assumed that he will still show up in some of the upcoming DC movies, specifically the planned THE JUSTICE LEAGUE films. But during a conversation with Business Insider, Eisenberg said he isn't sure what the future holds for his character.

I don’t know if they are so settled on where my character goes. I only hope I have another opportunity to work with these wonderful people and play this interesting character…The character has so many different faces. He has a public persona that appears charming and friendly and then a deeply disturbed private persona, so it will be interesting to see where he goes.

Although this probably means that Eisenberg's Luthor won't be in the first THE JUSTICE LEAGUE movie, since filming for it is expected to kick off this month, I wouldn't be surprised if the villain ends up appearing in the follow-up. What do you think the future plans are for the character?

THE JUSTICE LEAGUE PART ONE will be in theaters on November 12, 2017, while THE JUSTICE LEAGUE PART TWO has been set to open on June 14, 2019.
