Joe Hill’s NOS4A2 nears production at AMC

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

By now, lots of people have figured out that Joe Hill is the son of New York Times Best Selling Writer and Master of Nightmares, Stephen King. Hill, the co-creator of the enigmatic IDW comic book horror series Locke & Key and writer of such terrifyingly good novels such as Heart-Shaped Box, Horns, and The Fireman, is now close to having his holiday thriller NOS4A2 picked up for a TV series at AMC.

For the moment, AMC is considering three properties to be one of their next television undertakings. The first is Hill's NOS4A2. The others are a global mystery thriller called Pandora, and the other is an adaptation of Silent History, the app and novel by Eli Horowitz, Matthew Derby and Kevin Moffatt. All three will soon be entering AMC's new script-to-series model program, which waylays the usual pilot episode process in the interest of building writers' rooms to develop scripts for several episodes at a time, in addition to an outline for the series to help determine viability.

Here's the official synopsis for NOS4A2 as provided by AMC:

Victoria McQueen has a secret gift for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. Charles Manx has a way with children. He likes to take them for rides, transporting them to an astonishing – and terrifying – playground of amusements he calls “Christmasland.” Vic, with her gift, is the only one able to track the superhuman Manx. But finding him is the easy part. Defeating Manx and rescuing his victims will take everything Vic’s got and nearly kill her in the process.

AMC's HELL ON WHEELS alum Jami O' Brien will act as executive producer for NOS4A2 out of AMC Studios and Tornante. In other Joe Hill-related news, his above mentioned IDW comic book series has recently recieved a pilot order courtesy of Hulu.

Additionally, don't forget that you can float on over to your local theater beginning on September 7, 2017 to catch the latest adaptation of Stephen King's IT.
