Joel McHale lands a spot opposite Mila Kunis in Seth MacFarlane’s Ted

Every week when I watch NBC’s Community I wonder, “Why isn’t Joel McHale in more movies?” He’s hilarious on that show, and finally losing that “guy who hosts The Soup” label. Well it seems in 2011, my question is being answered.

McHale is set to star in three films next year, THE BIG YEAR with Owen Wilson and Steve Martin, WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER with Anna Farris and SPY KIDS with Jessica Alba.

But now he’s adding a fourth title, as he’s just landed a part opposite Mila Kunis in Seth MacFarlane’s TED. The film stars Mark Wahlberg as a guy trying to marry his girlfriend (Kunis) who is constantly being hit on by her creepster boss (McHale), but first he must deal with his teddy bear (voiced by MacFarlane), who came alive from a childhood wish and is currently a womanizing, boozing slacker.

Yeah, that last part caught me off guard too, but it sounds like a decently funny concept. I’m a fan of Wahlberg in comedies these days. Not so much in video game movie adaptations though…
