Johnny Depp signs on for Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Johnny Depp hasn’t had the best of luck with his films as of late. Aside from RANGO, which was amazing. DARK SHADOWS seemed to be a huge disappointment, even from the biggest of fans who hoped that one would work out for him. Fingers crossed on Disney’s THE LONE RANGER.

Regardless, Depp is still an awesome guy and deserves all the success in the world. So maybe he’ll find his return in Wes Anderson’s THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL. Depp has signed on to take the lead in the director’s next project. Unfortunately, there are no plot details due to the script being kept under tight wraps. Anderson is still looking to sign Willem Dafoe, Owen Wilson, Edward Norton, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Murray, Adrien Brody, Jude Law, and Angela Lansbury. If all of these actors agree, I will be in film heaven. Anderson is well known for putting together a good cast, but this one could be my favorite.

Though it was no surprise in my opinion, MOONRISE KINGDOM garnered some spectacular reviews. I’ve never seen a movie of his thus far that I didn’t like. My hope is that he does another stop motion film sometime in the near future.

Can’t wait to hear more on this project.
