Latest on-set Spectre photos suggest a key trait for Christoph Waltz

Ever since Christoph Waltz was in the running to be a bad guy in SPECTRE, it was rumored that he would actually be playing recurring villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Thanks to AUSTIN POWERS, the villain was reduced to a joke. Given Mendes’ reboot of popular elements of the series in SKYFALL, what better time to bring back the infamous character than in SPECTRE? Well, Waltz has denied time and time again that he’s playing this character, and these latest set pictures don’t exactly help his argument.

Pictures taken on the Vauxhall Bridge in London, England, show Waltz sporting some mo-cap markers on his face for some work to be done in post. Either Sam Mendes imported Two-Face into his film, or methinks he’s going to be sporting some nasty scars. Take a look:

Frankly, I’d rather Waltz just be playing this “Franz Oberhauser” character than someone who evolves into Blofeld. I think STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS just put a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to all this misdirection business. Besides, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that Mendes just likes his villains with some serious physical detriments. Awfully coincidental, though….

SPECTURE will hit theaters on November 6, 2015.
