More Aronofsky cast

Up until now, the main focal point on the web for Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming suspense flick BLACK SWAN was the early reports that stars Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis shared a steamy and erotic sex scene. But it turns out there’s actually an otherwise interesting movie beyond all that (and that’s assuming that scene actually makes it to filming)! Slashfilm has learned that as production gears up in New York City, three new actors have signed on to join the film. Winona Ryder, Vincent Cassel and Barbara Hershey will join Aronofsky for the ballet-themed thriller.

Ryder, who recently reunited with her DRACULA star Keanu Reeves in the upcoming THE PRIVATE LIVES OF PIPPA LEE, will star as the senior member of the ballet troupe that Portman’s character is a part of. She’s approaching the end of her career and all the dancers are angling to win her role as Odette in “Swan Lake.” Cassel will play a theater director described as “sinister” (obvs) and Hershey will play Portman’s mother in the film.

I had heard that filming had actually begun earlier in October but it’s more likely that Portman was deep in rehearsals for her ballet scenes as actual filming should begin in about two weeks.
