New full trailer for Marvel’s Runaways warns of danger and dark times

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Marvel Entertainment and Hulu have released a full trailer for RUNAWAYS! Adapted from the Marvel comic created by writer Briak K. Vaughan (SAGA, WE STAND ON GUARD) and artist Adrian Alphona, RUNAWAYS tells the story of characters Nico Minoru (Lyrica Okano), Karolina Dean (Virginia Gardner), Gertrude Yorkes (Ariele Barer), Molly Hernandez (Allegra Acosta), Chase Stein (Greg Sulkin), and Alex Wilder (Rhenzy Feliz) – six teenagers who are forced to come together due to sharing a common foe: their parents.

The show also features Annie Wersching, Ryan Sands, Angel Parker, Ever Carradine, James Marsters, Kevin Weisman, Brigid Brannah, James Yaegashi, Brittany Ishibashi, Kip Pardue, and Julian McMahon as the teenage super group's nafarious parental units. Executively produced by series showrunners/writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage in a partnership with Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory, RUNAWAYS aims to combine familial drama with action-packed superhero exploits that may of may not include a telepathic dinosaur. I'm just kidding, there's totally a telepathic velociraptor in this show, and her name is Lace.

For those of us who've read The Runaways, you might have noticed a bunch of nod's to Vaughan and Alphona's early work on the series, in this trailer. Granted, Molly is now wearing a pink pussy hat as oppposed to her iconic pink beanie, but we also get to see Karolina Dean glowing like a thousand phosphorescent stars, Chase and Gert looking dumbfounded as they see Lace for the first time, as well as the intensity of Molly's super strength.

Straight up, folks, I am stupidly excited for this show! Marvel's RUNAWAYS was one of the first great superhero runs I'd read (back when I was first getting into comics), and this show is something I've been waiting to see for nearly six years running. I know that I'll definitely be tuning in on November 21st, when Marvel's RUNAWAYS makes its Hulu debut, and I hope that all other comic fans enjoy it as well!
