New international trailer and posters for Keanu Reeves’ 47 Ronin

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

How do you feel about 47 RONIN? Still pretty meh? Same here, and unfortunately these two posters and international trailer probably won't change your opinion on the upcoming samurai-fantasy flick. If you're already sold on the film I'm sure you'll enjoy the posters and trailer below, but for everyone else I feel like this is just going to be another opportunity to discuss how big of a failure 47 RONIN could be.

Take a look.

Synopsis:

The outcast Kai (Reeves) joins a group of ronin, led by Kuranosuke Oishi, who seeks vengeance on Lord Kira for killing their master and banishing the group. The ronin embark on a journey with challenges that would defeat most warriors.

Believe me, I don't want 47 RONIN to be a giant box office disaster, but all of the ingredients are there: a massive budget, underwhelming trailers, poor looking CG and Keanu Reeves. OK, so I'm kind of kidding with the Keanu part, however there are many people that think the film will be a big loss for Universal, and it's going to be very interesting to see how well it does end up performing. With a budget that's at least $175 million though (with one report putting it at closer to $225 million), 47 RONIN has a big mountain to climb before anyone is going to call it a success.

47 RONIN also stars Rinko Kikuchi, Hiroyuki Sanada and Tadanobu Asano, and will slice into theaters on December 25th, 2013.
