New trailer for 24: Live Another Day with Kiefer Sutherland gets into action

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

A new trailer for Fox’s revived series, 24: Live Another Day digs into the story and action, giving us more details about the dynamics of Jack Bauer’s return to the small screen. Once again starring Kiefer Sutherland as the enigmatic hero, the series also sees the return of regulars Mary Lynn Rajskub as Chloe, William Devane as President James Heller, Kim Raver as Audrey Raines, and has a host of newcomers, including Benjamin Bratt, Yvonne Strahovski, Michelle Fairley, and Michael Wincott, amongst others. For those who’ve been waiting to see Jack Bauer kick ass, take names, and yell for information, it’s time to settle in and get ready for coolness.

“No going back for me”:

Here’s the show synopsis:

The high-octane saga reunites the Emmy Award-winning team of executive producer Howard Gordon; star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherland; co-creator Robert Cochran; executive producers, Evan Katz, Manny Coto, David Fury, Brian Grazer and director Jon Cassar. It also will retain the real-time, pulse-pounding, fast-paced format with split screens and interweaving storylines. Set and shot in London, the suspenseful event series once again will follow the exploits of heroic agent Jack Bauer.

Four years ago, Jack was a fugitive from justice. Now an exile, he nevertheless is willing to risk his life and freedom to avert yet another global disaster. Tracking Jack are CIA head Steve Harris; CIA agent Kate Morgan, who is both resourceful and ruthless; Jordan Reed, a smart and sophisticated CIA computer tech; and Erik Ritter, a sharp, strong and arrogant field operative. Calling the shots is James Heller, now President of the United States. Heller is flanked by his Chief of Staff Mark Boudreau, who is married to Heller’s daughter — Jack’s former flame, Audrey. Meanwhile, a hardened Chloe O’Brian, Bauer’s CTU confidante, is now working underground with high-profile hacker Adrian Cros.

I’m ready for some more Jack Bauer. Although the show ended originally at a time that it had run the full gamut of where it could go, I’m thinking that maybe a little break was all that was needed. With the scaled back episodes (12 instead of 24 this time) and a new setting/new castmembers, this may be the perfect time for Jack Bauer to return. So far, it’s lookin’ good.

24: Live Another Day debuts on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 8:00 PM ET/PT.
