Next Mission: Impossible Brings Back Character From 1996 Original!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Believe it or not, the very first MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE film hit theaters nearly 24 years ago! Over that time, the series has evolved in many ways, but has managed to still keep a couple core characters popping up. Now, does the name Henry Czerny ring a bell? It certainly didn't for me, but then I saw the Twitter image posted below by the director of MI:5, MI:6, and the upcoming MI:7 and MI:8, Christopher McQuarrie and immediately recognized "Kittridge"! Observe:

In the original 1996 MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, Kittridge was the director of the Impossible Mission Force who tried to capture Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt character because of his suspicions of being a mole of his agency, unaware that this title actually returned to Jim Phelps. He was played by Henry Czerny and hasn't been back to the IMPOSSIBLE universe since… until now, because as McQuarrie's little message above the image states, Ethan's past will be coming back to haunt him! I love this shit! How do you feel about the now super well-known Henry Czerny returning to the franchise? Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to post your comments below!
