Rachel McAdams to join Keanu Reeves in sci-fi romance Passengers

Ready to see Keanu Reeves take on another sci-fi flick? Is it a bonus that Rachel McAdams will be the leading lady? Yes. More like triple bonus.

The film in question titled PASSENGERS ignited a huge bidding war during Cannes last year. Needless to say, The Weinstein Company nabbed it and are hot on the heels GRAVITY's success to get it going. Originally it was shopped with Reese Witherspoon as the lead but the actress had to drop out due to scheduling issues. I loved Witherspoon in MUD but feel like McAdams and Reeves make for a better match.

The script from Jon Spaights (PROMETHEUS) centers on:

A spacecraft transporting thousands of people to a distant colony planet has a malfunction in one of its sleep chambers. As a result, a single passenger (Reeves) is awakened 90 years before anyone else. Faced with the prospect of growing old and dying alone, he eventually decides to wake up a second passenger (McAdams), marking the beginning of what becomes a unique love story.

Also set in space, the film much like GRAVITY relies primarily on the relationship between the two leads. The film is slated to release next year.

Extra Tidbit: I'm sorry but Rachel McAdams is f*cking gorgeous. It's ridiculous how perfect she seems.
