This poster for The Master may be trying to hypnotize you

Last weekend, some lucky people were treated to an advanced viewing of THE MASTER. Of course, the buzz coming off of it was fantastic. As if we expected anything different from Paul Thomas Anderson. Sadly, the rest of us will just wait in anticipation until September rolls around. We definitely scored by getting the release date bumped up.

A new poster for the film has landed online, and it is just as intriguing as the last. While the simplicity still stands, we notice here that our three main characters are in the fly’s eye view or one of a kaleidoscope. The bluish and white hues create a sense of calm and relaxation. If you were to spin the image slowly, would it hypnotize you? While I do favor the first poster, this one is just as nice.

Synopsis: A 1950s-set drama centered on the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as “the Master” whose faith-based organization begins to catch on in America, and a young drifter who becomes his right-hand man.
