Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom roars in first!

Dinosaurs ruled the Earth once again this weekend as JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM opened on top at the box office with an estimated $150 million!

The sequel from director J.A. Bayona (A MONSTER CALLS, THE IMPOSSIBLE) couldn't match the staggering $208 million opening of 2015's JURASSIC WORLD, which went on to a massive $652 million domestic total and remains the sixth-biggest release in domestic history.

The fifth entry in the JURASSIC PARK series debuted two weeks ago in international territories where it has swallowed a gargantuan $561 million, taking it to a current worldwide total of $711 million. (The first JURASSIC WORLD finished with a colossal $1.6 billion worldwide.)

The PG-13 follow-up, with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard returning to battle/rescue the great scaly beasts, cost a reported $170 million.

Critics were divided on revisiting the dangerous (and now exploding) domain of Isla Nublar, giving the sequel a 50% average on Rotten Tomatoes. You can bite into the JoBlo review HERE.

Pixar's super-sequel INCREDIBLES 2 moved to second with $80.9 million, a drop of 55% from its first-place opening last weekend. The costumed family has a ten-day domestic total of $350.3 million, swiftly passing the $261 million finish of the original THE INCREDIBLES in 2004.

Writer-director Brad Bird's second time around with the powered-up Parr clan is already the third-biggest domestic release of 2018, and has a worldwide total of $485 million.

OCEAN'S 8 was in third place with $11.6 million as Sandra Bullock and the larcenous ladies passed $100 million domestic on their third weekend in theaters. Director Gary Ross' sequel/spinoff has a worldwide total of $170 million on a reported $70 million budget.

In fourth place was the R-rated comedy TAG with $8.2 million, losing 45% from its opening last week. The$28 million Jeremy Renner/Jon Hamm/Hannibal Buress game has a ten-day domestic total of $30.3 million.

DEADPOOL 2 was in fifth place with $5.2 million, bringing Ryan Reynolds' R-rated comedic carnage to $304.1 million domestic after shooting up the top half of the chart for six straight weekends. The $110 million sequel from director David Leitch has made it to a worldwide total of $707 million.

The Ron Howard-directed prequel SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY was in sixth place with $4 million as the Millennium Falcon finally drifted over $200 million domestic after five weekends in release. The anthology spinoff with Alden Ehrenreich wielding Harrison Ford's blaster has a worldwide total of $353 million (on a cost as high as $300 million).

R-rated horror movie HEREDITARY was in seventh place with $3.8 million for a domestic total of $35 million on its third weekend. R-rated blaxploitation remake SUPERFLY followed in eighth with $3.3 million, bringing the $16 million movie to a domestic total of $15.2 million.

Marvel's AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR was in ninth with $2.4 million, finally starting to wind down after nine weeks with a domestic total of $669.4 million and a whopping $2.03 billion worldwide.

The Mr. Rogers documentary WON'T YOU BE MY NEIGHBOR? rode the red trolley into the Top 10 with $1.8 million as it expanded to 348 screens. The acclaimed biopic has a domestic total of $4.1 million from its limited release run.

Outside the chart, oceanic tragedy ADRIFT floated away with adult romcom BOOK CLUB. In limited release, the Paul Rudd fact-based espionage story THE CATCHER WAS A SPY struck out with $122k on 49 screens.

Next weekend has the Emily Blunt-less sequel SICARIO: DAY OF THE SOLDADO, and the comedy UNCLE DREW.
