The new killer, chrome-skull slasher LAID TO REST has finally made its way onto DVD. I wasn’t sure whether to give this baby a shot. The plot sounds somewhat fresh (or at least a different combo of similar movies), but the “chance for cheesy” seemed a bit likely. However, after checking out the two new posters for LAID (up top and below), my instincts are starting to sway towards “see it”.
I’ve gotta admit that I am really likin’ that pose of the killer up top. The splashing of blood as the border is a great idea too. Just an all-around bad-ass look. And our main heroine below seems fittingly tough yet sexy. I’m diggin’ the look on her mug as well as the aluminum bat!
Here’s a quick summation of the plot: A young girl wakes up in a casket with a traumatic head injury and no memory of her identity. She quickly realizes she was abducted by a deranged serial murderer and is in an isolated rural town where she must survive the night and outsmart the technologically inclined killer who is hellbent on finishing what he started.
There you have it. Feel like checking it out? The DVD hits stores on April 21st. LAID TO REST was written and directed by Robert Hall and stars Bobbie Sue Luther, Lena Heady, Thomas Dekker, and Nick Principe as the chromed-faced baddie.
