Although it feels at times that The Walking Dead should be winding down, the franchise is actually bigger than ever. The tenth season of the flagship series debuted over the weekend, and the spin-off series Fear the Walking Dead will be launching its sixth season next year. There's also a series of Walking Dead films which will continue the story of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) on the big-screen. That's an awful lot of Walking Dead, but we've got another project to add to the growing pile with another Walking Dead spin-off series.
The new Walking Dead series features "two young female protagonists and focus on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad." The first full trailer for the new series debuted at New York Comic-Con, and you can check that out above! It looks as though society, or some semblance of it, has been restored in the decade since the zombie apocalypse first began, but our young characters soon escape outside the walls into a world they've not prepared for. Cue literally vomiting on a zombie. Although I'm feeling a little burnt out on the franchise, I know I'll probably check out the first few episodes of this new series because I'm a glutton for punishment.
The as-yet-untitled series will debut on AMC in spring 2020.
