I was surprised along with everyone else that Jim Carrey would be once again trying his hand at serious acting, this one being a thriller in Joel “I f*cked BATMAN up” Schumacher’s THE NUMBER 23 (sorry folks, THE CABLE GUY and BATMAN FOREVER were horror for other reasons). Over the weekend, the official site for the film went live, complete with creepy Jim Carrey pre-loader at the start.
On the site, you’ll find the story for the film, wallpapers to download, as well as some weird puzzle that probably involves the number 23. Sounds cheesy, but it’s actually kind of neat. THE NUMBER 23 also stars Virginia Madsen, Danny Huston, Logan Lerman and Rhona Mitra, and centres on a man whose life unravels after he comes into contact with an obscure book titled ‘The Number 23’.
As he reads the book, he becomes increasingly convinced that it is based on his own life. His obsession with the number 23 starts to consume him, and he begins to realize the book forecasts far graver consequences for his life than he could have ever imagined.
