Isabelle Fuhrman

Ten years after she first caught the attention of genre fans by playing the unforgettable role of Esther in ORPHAN, Isabelle Fuhrman has signed on to co-star in director Adam Robitel's sequel to his hit film ESCAPE ROOM.

We had previously heard that ESCAPE ROOM stars Taylor Russell and Logan Miller are returning for the follow-up, and if you saw that movie you know they're in need of a new supporting cast. Fuhrman is the first new cast member to join ESCAPE ROOM 2. Details on her character were not revealed. It seems safe to assume she's going to be someone who gets trapped in a series of potentially deadly escape rooms, but maybe her character will be luckier than that.

Written by Bragi Schut and Maria Melnik, the first ESCAPE ROOM shows what happens when

an intriguing invitation brings six strangers together. Initially, they think they have gathered for a highly immersive escape room, but they soon make the sickening discovery that they are pawns in a sadistic game of life and death. Together, they move from one terrifying scenario to the next as they find clues and solve puzzles. But the players soon learn that exposing their darkest secrets may hold the key to survive.

Made on a budget of $9 million, the film earned more than $155 million at the global box office. Schut has returned to write the screenplay for ESCAPE ROOM 2.

The sequel is heading toward an August 24, 2020 release date, so we'll probably be hearing more casting announcements very soon.
