Ticking clock sounds in movie trailers are always a surefire way to get the blood pumping, and the new trailer for OPERATION FINALE is no exception. The preview finds Oscar Isaac hunting some Nazis in Argentina, or rather one very important Nazi, played by Ben Kingsley, and the end result is an intense-as-hell trailer that guarantees two fantastic performances from two stellar leading men.
Directed by Chris Weitz (A BETTER LIFE), FINALE depicts the covert mission in 1960 led by Mossad agent Peter Malkin (Isaac) to hunt down Adolf Eichmann (Kingsley), one of Hitler’s top men and one who masterminded key elements of his Final Solution, leading to the deaths of over six million Jews during World War II. The movie depicts the tensions between these two men as Malkin struggles with balancing his own hatred of the man with his moral obligation to bring him to trial in Israel. Will he choke him to death, or won't he? That's the mystery!
The movie looks like a riveting biographical thriller with Isaac and Kingsley delivering showstopping work. There’s a lot of tension and drama between the two of them, not to mention that actual thrills in hunting and capturing Eichmann. The movie sports a solid supporting cast too, featuring Haley Richardson, Mélanie Laurent, Nick Kroll, and more.
OPERATION FINALE hits theaters August 29.
