Are you ready to rock? It’s been announced that the legendary rock outfit Queen will perform at the 91st Academy Awards! Oh, and have no fear, this won’t be some Freddie Mercury hologram performance, my friends. According to reports, the remaining members of Queen (guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor) will perform alongside singer Adam Lambert, who currently kicks fans cans all over the place as the band’s charismatic frontman. Of course, all of this spins out of Bryan Singer’s BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY being nominated for a total of 5 awards, including the one for Best Picture.

While the Academy has yet to share exactly how Queen will arrive as a part of the big show, outlets are speculating that the band could open this year’s host-less event.

Joining Queen for a night of glitz, glam, and glorious music on the Academy stage are Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper performing “Shallow” from A STAR IS BORN, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings doing “When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings” from THE BALLAD OF BUSTER SCRUGGS, Jennifer Hudson singing “I’ll Fight”, as well as the recently announced special guest, Bette Midler, singing “The Place Where Lost Things Go” from MARY POPPINS RETURNS. Unfortunately, the Academy has yet to confirm if Kendrick Lamar and SZA will grace the stage for a performance of their Black Panther single “All the Stars”.

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY is up for awards in the following categories: Best Picture, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, and Film Editing. Rami Malek is nominated for Best Actor for his performance as Mercury.
