Rapper Megan Thee Stallion says she is writing a mind-blowing horror script

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

One month after reporting that she suffered gunshot wounds in her feet, rapper Megan Thee Stallion has released a collaboration with Cardi B that debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and broke U.S. streaming records, having been streamed more than 93 million times in just six days. That song, called "WAP", shows that Megan Thee Stallion can co-write some interesting lyrics… but can she write a good horror screenplay? We might find out, because Thee Stallion has mentioned the fact that she's working on a horror script several times in recent months.

Thee Stallion is keeping the plot of her script under wraps, but in a new interview she tells Variety that

It's gonna be something that definitely blows your mind; you've never seen it before."

This will actually be the second genre project for Thee Stallion. Last October she played a vampire private investigator in Hottieween, a YouTube series she created. The series was directed by Teyana Taylor.

Thee Stallion has said that she would like to work with Jordan Peele, expressed disinterest in reboots and retreads ("How many times can you remake HALLOWEEN?"), and named THE EVIL DEAD as her favorite horror movie. (Watch it HERE.) She has said that one thing she enjoys is how movies can

make you semi fall in love with the villain, so you have sympathy for him. You're not gonna want the villain to die, maybe he won't die. 'Cause I feel like every good story, you can't just necessarily kill off the villain. That's why the Batman never killed Joker. How the f*ck would you have Batman with no Joker?"

I listened to "WAP" before I started writing this article, and that's as far as my knowledge of Megan Thee Stallion's music career goes. But since she's a horror fan who thinks she can add something cool to the genre, I'm very interested in finding out more about the story she's writing.
