Secret Headquarters Interview: Owen Wilson & the cast on superheroes and more!

After more than a quarter-century as a movie star, Owen Wilson is finally suiting up to play a superhero in Secret Headquarters, the new Paramount Plus family flick directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. If those names sound familiar to you, it’s because they were behind such diverse and eccentric flicks as Paranormal Activity 3 & 4 (3 is by far the best movie in the franchise), the better-than-expected teen thriller Nerve, and the recent Netflix hit Project Power

In this, Wilson plays a mild-mannered family man named Jake Kincaid who has a secret life. No, he’s not a killer or a bigamist – it’s all much more innocent than that. It turns out, he’s a legit superhero with a headquarters built under the family home. When villains attack and dad’s not home, his son and best pals must team up to defend the family fortress until his dad gets back to rescue them all.

We were lucky enough to sit down with the always charming Wilson, along with Joost, Schulman, and co-stars Keith L. Williams (who you may remember from Good Boys) and Momona Tamada. Everyone involved seemed to have a blast making this family friendly adventure flick (with an edge), and this junket was actually one of our first back in person since the pandemic started.
