Sega gets in gear

Three great tastes that taste great together.

Okay, so we’re all stoked that SEGA! (sorry, nostalgia trip) snagged the honour of publishing video games based on Fox’s ALIEN franchise. Considering that we haven’t had a good game based on the franchise since ALIENS VS. PREDATOR 2 (or any game, for that matter), I was stoked.

Yesterday, the company announced that Gearbox (the dudes who worked on the BROTHERS IN ARMS series) would be doing the development job on the first person shooter set in the ALIEN universe. This news comes after Sega announced on Wednesday that Obsidian Entertainment (the guys who made STAR WARS: KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC 2) would be handling an ALIEN RPG.

Excellent news on Sega’s behalf, since it’s obvious that they aren’t out looking for a quick cash-in on the franchise. Keep your eyes peeled on teaser site for more info on the games to come.
