It appears as though the TWILIGHT craze has claimed another victim. This time it’s real life British thespian Michael Sheen, who has been cast in the upcoming Chris Weitz-directed NEW MOON. In it, Sheen will play the leader of the Volturi, an Italy-based coven of vampires who pose a threat to Kristin Stewart and her fair-skinned crew.
Sheen has plenty of experience with the occult, having portrayed a werewolf in all three UNDERWORLD FILMS, so I guess his casting is somewhat congruous with the rest of his career. Still, Sheen has steadily established himself as one of the finest actors from across the pond and his casting in the tween sensation simply goes to show that even Hollywood actors are not immune to the recession. Sheen needs to get paid, yo!
