Sofia Pernas boards the train for The CW’s Transylvania

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

The "totally not Penny Dreadful" CW show Transylvania has just had a casting shakeup for its pilot. While Amrita Acharia was originally cast in a co-leading role, she has since been recast by one Sofia Pernas (THE GREEN GHOST, AGE OF THE DRAGONS).

Pernas must be thanking her lucky stars, because just two days ago she was released from her contract at The Young and the Restless due to budget constraints. She picked up this role the next day, about as casually as you might grab milk at the grocery store, and now she's on her way to the set to immediately start shooting the pilot.

In Transylvania, Laura Brent plays Victoria:

a headstrong young woman searching for her missing father who ventures from Transylvania to New York, where she teams with a wrongfully disgraced Scotland Yard detective. Together, they witness the births of the most famous monsters and villains in history.

The pilot, which also stars Luke Allen-Gale, is being directed by Jason Ensler from a teleplay by Hugh Sterbakov. More news on Transylvania as it emerges from the shadows!
