We’re now less than a month away from the release of Thor: Love and Thunder and the runtime of the film has been revealed by AMC Theatres. If you want to know just how long your butt will be mashed into your theater seat, look no further. Most movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sit around the two-hour mark, and Thor: Love and Thunder will be no exception, but at 1 hour and 59 minutes, the Thor sequel will also be the shortest MCU movie since Ant-Man and the Wasp back in 2018.

For comparison’s sake, the first Thor movie was 1 hour and 55 minutes, Thor: The Dark World was 1 hour and 52 minutes, and Thor: Ragnarok was 2 hours and 10 minutes. In addition to the reveal of the runtime, a slew of new posters for Thor: Love and Thunder were also released. Check those out below!

I especially love the poster featuring Toothgrinder and Toothgnasher, the two mystical goats who pull Thor’s chariot. Ticket pre-orders for Thor: Love and Thunder begin today, and I’m sure fans are more than a little excited to witness Thor’s latest adventure.

The official synopsis for Thor: Love and Thunder:

The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters on July 8, 2022.
