Tom Cruise may face off against Sean Harris in Mission Impossible 5

With shooting well underway for the next installment in the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE series, you’d think casting would be a done deal at this point. It seems that’s not the case, and as there is still an empty slot for a villain (you mean it’s not age?). Word on the street is that British actor Sean Harris is in negotiations to play the antagonist in MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 5.

For you TV aficionados, you may recognize Harris as Micheletto from The Borgias. Of course, he could be seen more recently on the big screen in DELIVER US FROM EVIL, and as a scientist making some very stupid decisions in Ridley Scott‘s PROMETHEUS (he was all about his “pups”). I can’t say that I feel anything other than indifference towards this casting choice, but I trust director Christopher McQuarrie and look forward to the direction he’ll be taking the IMF team in this next installment.
