Director Johannes Roberts set a bunch of sharks loose on two sisters trapped in a sunken diving cage in the 2017 release 47 METERS DOWN, and now he's trapping a new group of characters in shark-infested waters in the sequel 47 METERS DOWN: UNCAGED (titled that because this group isn't in a diving cage, you see). The sequel is scheduled to reach theatres this summer, and the news program Extra recently visited the set to give us a quick look at what it was like making this movie.

In the video embedded below Extra talks to stars Corinne Foxx, Sophie Nelisse, Sistine Stallone, and Brianne Tju, and these quick snippets of interview are intercut with shots of the actresses filming water scenes – and being menaced by the head of a shark puppet – on a set constructed at Pinewood Studios in England.

Written by Roberts and his 47 METERS DOWN co-writer Ernest Riera, UNCAGED is about

four teens diving in a ruined underwater city, who quickly find themselves in a watery hell as their adventure turns to horror when they learn they are not alone in the submerged caves. As they swim deeper into the claustrophobic labyrinth of caves they enter the territory of the deadliest shark species in the ocean.

John Corbett, Nia Long, Davi Santos, Kylin Rhambo, and Brec Bassinger are also in the cast.

47 METERS DOWN: UNCAGED is scheduled to receive an August 16th release.

The film was produced by James Harris, Mark Lane, and Robert Jones of The Fyzz, with Byron Allen, Carolyn Folks, and Jennifer Lucas serving as executive producers.
